Taittinger Comtes de Champagne

The star at Taittinger is the Comtes de Champagne...”the best in its style with its soft, exotic and creamy taste. It is the Champagne that contains an aromatic spectrum that is exciting enough for (everyone) to fall head-over-heels for its beauty”Richard Juhlin (4000 champagnes)

Very dry and lively and fine. Lovely depth, real nerve. Fine and tight and great stuff. Delicious, but then at Majestic Wine’s special price of £100 a bottle – reduced from £125 - so it should be. Drink to 2015. Jancis Robinson 18 points (3rd March 2010)
Light yellow. Stony peach and pear aromas are complemented by smoked meat and Asian spices. Round and filled in, with admirably deep pit fruit flavours, a pliant texture and a fresh mineral kick on the finish. Leaves a strong pear impression on the palate and an echo of minerals. Stephen Tanzer (93 points)

Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rosé
£795 per 6 bottles 2004 Rosé in bond
Deep, bright pink. Powerful scents of blood orange, raspberry, dusty minerals and spices. Sappy, finely etched red berry and citrus flavours are given spine by a zesty mineral quality. The raspberry note resonates strongly on the finish, which leaves dusty talc and mineral notes behind. This wine's blend of vivacity and depth is impressive. Stephen Tanzer (92 points)

Light pink with an energetic bead. Redcurrant and blood orange aromas are brightened by suave mineral and Szechuan peppercorn qualities. Fresh, tightly wound red fruit flavours show impressive focus and a delicate, medium-bodied character, with no excess weight. A suave style of rose with remarkable clarity and delineation. Stephen Tanzer (93 points)
