Tasting Notes for Latour, 2006:
The 2006 LatourŐs inky/ruby/purple color precedes pure aromas of red and black fruits, high tannin, medium body, impressive sweetness and purity as well as a long finish. Thirty-eight percent of the production (about 10,000 cases) made it into the final blend (86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc). A modern version of the 1986 and 1996, the slightly austere 2006 will need a decade of aging. It should keep for 40-50 years. Wine Advocate # 170 Apr 2007.
