Tasting Notes for Dow - Dow, 2000: 92-94 points. A sweet tannic wine, with mineral, berry and black cherry character and hints of green tobacco. Full-bodied, with fine tannins. Long finish. Tight ands racy. James Suckling Wine Spectator May 2002.18/20 points. Fullish colour. Good nose. Plenty of depth. Elegant , slightly austere fruit, but complex with it. Medium-full body. Rich. Good grip. Plenty of vigour here. Claen and classy. Harmonious and fresh. Long. Fine plus. From 2015. Clive Coates The Vine issue 210 July 2002.4 stars (out of 5). Very dense, closed and withdrawn; characteristically dry yet rich, ripe and well structured with tannins exploding on the finish. Very fine and dense but perhaps not as expressive as some of its peers. Richard Mayson Decanter Magazine August 2002. Parker Points: - Drinking Period: 2008-2030 |

Tasting Notes for Smith Woodhouse - Smith Woodhouse, 2000: 95-100 points. Blackstrap wine. Wow. Greatest young vintage of SW I have ever tasted. Intense aromas of blackberries, minerals, black licorice and wet earth. Full-bodied, medium sweet, with mouthpuckering tannins, yet refined and very long. A beauty. James Suckling Wine Spectator May 2002.17.5/20 points. Very good colour. Firm, backward and concentrated on the nose. This has depth and quality without a doubt. Full body. Very good tannins. Very good grip too. Backward, profound and very promising. This is fine. From 2018. Clive Coates The Vine issue 210 July 2002.4 stars (out of 5). Closed, dense but with underlying depth and intensity. Big, rich sweet berry fruit backed by firm tannic grip and a powerful finish. Very impressive. Richard Mayson Decanter Magazine August 2002.
