Cloudy Bay & Provence Rose - a bank holiday duo
Established in 1985, Cloudy Bay was one of the first five wine makers to venture into Marlborough. At the time, it was almost an unimaginable place to set-up a vineyard. But Cloudy Bay’s founder - David Hohnen - was convinced of its potential to produce great wine and invested in the best land of the region. Since then, Marlborough has risen to become New Zealand’s leading wine region, as well as one of the finest winemaking locations in the world.

"Cloudy Bay's Jim White assures us that 2019 was a great Marlborough vintage. Pretty powerful nose with a little more nuance than some vintages I can remember. It has the sort of texture that makes me wonder whether some portions didn't see a little oak. I could drink this! Quite long." Drink to 2023
The world-renowned Chapoutier winemaking family is best known for their legendary Rhone wines. In 2016 Chapoutier made the decision to invest in the delightful Provence region, which to quote Corinne Chapoutier, is ‘a natural continuation of the Rhône Valley’, purchasing the Provence estate ‘Château des Ferrages’ in Pourcieux.
Although the 2019 is still too fresh to have been scored yet, the previous two releases have been well-received & much-enjoyed! And we have magnums too - even better!
