Vinous Neal Martin - 01 May 23
The 2002 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is a standout wine. Ethereal on the nose, this unfurls beautifully and eventually reveals the energy contained within this wine. Molasses hints infuse the red cherry fruit, undergrowth, and Chinese tea notes. This is multi-faceted and mercurial. The medium-bodied palate is intense for this vintage. It is ripe, silky in texture and slightly confit towards the vigorous and long finish. This is à point. Gorgeous. Tasted at the Les Amoureuses vertical at Hide restaurant.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
