Pale, bright yellow. Captivating, pungent, soil-driven perfume melds ginger, quinine, menthol and spearmint. Then almost shockingly ripe and sweet on the palate, offering a fine-grained texture and superb breadth to the sappy, spicy, youthfully medicinal flavors. A great success for this bottling, but I'd give it a minimum of six or seven years in the cellar to absorb its light bitter edge.

Nuits-Saint-Georges

Nuits-Saint-Georges, a renowned appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is famous for its robust, structured Pinot Noir wines with rich flavours of dark cherries, blackberries, and plums, along with earthy, spicy notes. Known for firm tannins and full-bodied character, these wines are ideal for ageing. Although lacking Grand Cru vineyards, Premier Cru sites like Les Saint-Georges and Les Vaucrains produce exceptional wines. Top producers include Domaine Henri Gouges, Domaine Faiveley, and Domaine Robert Chevillon, all celebrated for showcasing the unique terroir with traditional winemaking.
