Robert Parker Wine Advocate William Kelley - 09 Jan 20
The 2018 Vosne-Romanée is showing beautifully, soaring from the glass with a deep bouquet of wild berries, plums and cherries mingled with sweet spices, woodsmoke, grilled squab and rich soil tones. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety, with fine concentration, lively acids and an expansive finish.

The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village, raised in around 25% new oak, has a very intense bouquet of black cherries and light iodine aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit tinged with graphite, leading to a precise finish that does not outstay its welcome. Very fine, but it will require three or four years in bottle.

Bright, deep crimson. Not immediately expressive on the nose (I have just been tasting Côte de Beaune wines…). I find quite a bit of oak dominating the fruit at the moment but doubtless it will all come right in the end. Quite a severe finish. But certainly clean and brisk with some Vosne energy and no shortage of concentration. (JR)
