Vinous David Schildknecht - 31 May 22
Mint, cress, stalk celery, plum pit and wood smoke accent lemon and apple in the aromatically pungent and frisky, infectiously juicy and mouthwateringly saline 2020 Riesling Wiltinger Braune Kupp Kabinett. The underlying feel is polished, and there is a delightful, wafting sense of delicacy. This finishes with tongue-tingling vibrancy and shimmering fruit, stone and herbal interaction. Here is a wonderful example of how 2020 so often defies preconceptions of a growing season with a very warm, dry summer.

Enticing perfumed fragrance combines persistent aromas of apple and citrus fruit with delicate floral nuances and a hint of spice. On the palate, ripe apple and a hint of orange are well seasoned with a spicy piquancy and just a dash of brown sugar. (MS)
