Cask sample. Deepish cherry red. Sweet, lifted almost wild fruit aroma. Chewy, dry and firm but the fruit is there to keep the tannins in check. Slightly sour finish but that increases the freshness. (JH)

Nuits-Saint-Georges

Nuits-Saint-Georges, a renowned appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is famous for its robust, structured Pinot Noir wines with rich flavours of dark cherries, blackberries, and plums, along with earthy, spicy notes. Known for firm tannins and full-bodied character, these wines are ideal for ageing. Although lacking Grand Cru vineyards, Premier Cru sites like Les Saint-Georges and Les Vaucrains produce exceptional wines. Top producers include Domaine Henri Gouges, Domaine Faiveley, and Domaine Robert Chevillon, all celebrated for showcasing the unique terroir with traditional winemaking.
