Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Dec 21
The 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Ruchots 1er Cru has a ripe and quite floral bouquet, mainly black fruit here, briary and a touch of peony. This has more finesse than the Chesaux. The palate is medium-bodied with a fleshy, ripe opening. Good depth, yet backward compared to others, with just a touch of orange rind and brown spices on the finish. Harmonious from start to finish, give this 4-5 years in bottle.

Morey-Saint-Denis Fine Wine

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
