Robert Parker Wine Advocate William Kelley - 20 Jan 22
Sensual and gourmand, Barthod's 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Aux Beaux Bruns wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries and plums mingled with rose petals, orange rind and spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, it's seamless and enveloping, with an ample core of fruit and ripe, supple tannins. If there's one wine in the range that can be approached young, it's this.

Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Dec 20
The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Aux Beaux Bruns 1er Cru, which was the first to be picked in the appellation this vintage, on September 10, has a well-defined bouquet of precise black cherry and light bilberry aromas, touches of sea spray just perceptible in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit tobacco and cracked black pepper toward the finish, making this one of the spiciest cuvées from the domaine. Good length here, but it leans toward the more austere side overall.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
