Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Sep 23
From three parcels, the 2022 Chablis Côte de Léchet 1er Cru has a generous bouquet with yellow flowers and light hazelnut aromas, a touch of chalk dust emerging with time. The palate is crisp and well-balanced, quite peppery and linear in style, maybe needing just a little more weight on the finish to make a bolder impression? Fine.

Chablis

Chablis, the northernmost Burgundy region, is famed for its crisp, mineral-driven Chardonnay wines. Unlike rich, oaky Chardonnays, Chablis wines, influenced by the cool climate and limestone-rich soils, feature vibrant acidity and flavours of green apple, citrus, and flint. Ideal with seafood, especially oysters, Chablis wines come in four appellations: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru, and Chablis Grand Cru. Esteemed producers like Domaine William Fèvre, François Raveneau, and Vincent Dauvissat are known for their classic, terroir-expressive wines.
