The 2022 Pouilly-Fuissé La Maréchaude Clos la Verchère 1er Cru was deeply impressive from barrel. Now in bottle, it conveys such precision and energy on the nose that you are instantly seduced. Wonderful terroir expression. The palate has a sense of symmetry that is beguiling, with a touch of almond and hazelnut. Smooth and tensile on the finish. Highly recommended.

Cask sample. Justifies the elevation of certain Pouilly-Fuissé climats to premier cru. Lots of interest with appley acidity blending with ripe yellow peach on the palate. Not at all blowsy. Fine balance. Long aftertaste. Value wise, this would embarrass many Côte d'Or whites. VGV (AWH)
