The 2022 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru is a little oaky on the nose, and this dictates the aromatic profile at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied and again comes across as a wine shaped by the cooperage and the toasting of the barrel. Touches of sesame towards the finish, but it fails to really take off as I would have hoped given its showing from barrel. Bottled under Diam 30. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Cask sample. Precise and elegant Meursault premier cru, with hints of orange blossom and crisp citrus-driven acidity to provide the all-important freshness. Excellent purity and a crystalline edge here. Good length and complexity on the finish. A Meursault which will age well, gaining additional complexity. (AWH)
