Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Sep 16
Bright lemon-yellow color. Pungent aromas of lemon and lime are complicated by a subtle leesy quality. A distinct step up in energy from the Narvaux, with its penetrating lemon and lime flavors complemented by saline minerality and a minty nuance. No shortage of acidity here. Finishes with excellent echoing length. Colin says these vines are situated in the middle of Lafon's Charmes du Haut.

Meursault

Meursault, in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, is famed for its rich and complex Chardonnay wines. Known for opulent textures, vibrant acidity, and nutty, buttery flavours with notes of stone fruits, citrus, and hazelnuts, these wines also feature a subtle minerality and creamy mouthfeel from limestone-rich soils and oak ageing. Though lacking Grand Cru vineyards, Premier Cru sites like Les Perrières, Les Genevrières, and Les Charmes produce exceptional wines. Top producers include Domaine des Comtes Lafon, Domaine Roulot, and Domaine Coche-Dury, all celebrated for showcasing Meursault's unique terroir.
