Bandol is predominantly made from Mourvèdre, and its unique terroir gives extra ripeness, greater fruit weight and structure.
Bandol rosé wines, which account for about a third of total output of the appellation, are known for their spicy, earthy character and rank among the more distinguished rosés that France has to offer.
Alexandre Dumas' Count of Monte Cristo famously enjoyed a glass of Bandol rose "bien frais".

Bright orange. Mineral-inflected raspberry, nectarine and blood orange aromas are complemented by lavender and dusty mineral nuances. Gently chewy and focused on the palate, offering concentrated red berry and citrus fruit flavors supported by a spine of juicy acidity. Shows strong tenacity on the mineral-driven finish, which leaves behind a hint of candied flowers. - Josh Raynolds
