Moments like this do not come around very often.

Today, Taylor’s has released its Very Very Old Port White (VVOP) of which we have managed to secure a tiny allocation.

To qualify as a VVOP, the wine must have an average age of more than 80 years. This extraordinary blend has been drawn from some of the finest old white Port reserves ageing in seasoned oak casks in Taylor’s cellars, dating back as far as 1896.

For a wine of this rarity, the presentation is suitably special. Taylor’s commissioned a bespoke crystal decanter in partnership with Vista Alegre, one of Portugal’s most distinguished luxury houses, with a presentation case created specifically for this release.

We have only 10 bottles are available and, once they are gone, they are gone.

Available strictly on a first come, first served basis.

Wine expected to arrive with Seckford October 2026.

Taylor’s Very Very Old Port White (VVOP)

£410 per 75cl decanter in OWC

"Luminous golden orange, amber core, with radiant bronze tones and greenish olive hues on the rim. This isn’t simply an old white Port; this is a living time capsule. Each sip takes you on a journey that only time can bestow, offering quiet grandeur and rarity of taste. Its depth of nose is astounding, long, opulent and poised. A rich scent of dried apricots, almond biscotti, orange zest and wild lavender attack the senses and then finishes with sun drenched jasmine and orange blossom.

On the palate purity and elegance of fruit. Notes of roasted hazelnuts, almonds, tonka beans, blood grapefruit, honeycomb, saffron spice and a background salinity that lingers with delicate finesse. Concentrated to a magical essence, the wine coats the palate and ends with a balanced intensity and delicate finish."

98 points James Molesworth, Wine Spectator July 2026
“Toasted black sesame and rye notes lead the way, with date, burnt caramel, singed peanut, hazelnut husk and green tea accents providing terrific sweet/bitter contrast throughout. The finish shows an opulent edge, with fig compote and coffee can bread flavors, all while staying firmly focused thanks to riveting acidity underneath. A thoroughly intriguing wine. Drink now. 100 cases made.”
