Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 May 13
The 2006 Barolo Riserva wraps around the palate with serious density, weight and sheer power. Rich, voluptuous and totally seductive, the 2006 is remarkable open and accessible for the year, although it remains fresh and vibrant. In another few years, the tannins will soften further, and the wine will be even more accessible. The 2006 spent 30 months in French oak – too long in my view – followed by several months in cement prior to being bottled.

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
