Tasting Notes

93
Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Jul 99
Saturated bright ruby. Superripe aromas of black raspberry, chocolate, maple syrup, violet and menthol; this reminded me of a topnotch 1990 St. Est and egrave;phe. Very rich and thick; almost painful flavor intensity today. Deep and mouthfilling; voluptuous, layered and sweet. Spectacularly ripe, very long finish features dusty tannins. Not quite as backward as the '95. Hard to spit.
