The 2004 Coleccion Privada is the product of a much better vintage. It received the same treatment as the 2003 but is a much more fruit-driven wine. The fruit is riper and sweeter, more layered and more nuanced. It is still a very young wine that merits 5-7 years of cellaring and should drink well through 2030. Ruby-red. Intensely perfumed nose combines spicy cherry and blackberry fruit aromas with sexy notes of flowers and vanillin oak spice. Deep and sweet, with strikingly vivid red and dark berry flavors, supple tannins and bright finishing minerality. There's lots going on here.
