Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Jan 11
Good deep red. Reticent nose suggests violet, crushed stone and a medicinal component. Then surprisingly fat and sweet in the mouth, but with less floral lift and more earthy complexity than the Estournelles Saint-Jacques. A bit lower-toned too, and hiding more than it's showing today. This very backward wine finishes with a strong tannic impression.
