Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Mar 09
Good full red. Spicy black cherry, mocha and menthol on the nose. Sweet, fat, dense and powerful, with an oakiness that came as a surprise following the 2007 crus. More deeply pitched than the 2007 version, showing a medicinal, briary quality that reminded me of Bonnes-Mares. Finishes with serious, oak-driven tannins. More opulent than the '07 but less vibrant and refined.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
