Jancis Robinson Julia Harding - 04 Jul 22
Tasted as part of the Symington's event at the Portuguese embassy in London to launch the Graham's and Warre's 2020 anniversary ports and celebrate 650 years of Anglo-Portuguese friendship. Principal source: Quinta do Retiro Pequeno with smaller contributions from three neighbouring Rio Torto properties.A little lighter in colour than the Graham's. More nutty, more mature smelling, more undergrowth and less sweet-fruited. Subtle, super-fine tannins, more elegant texture than the Graham's but less gorgeous aromas, less pure, more mature tasting but still has sufficient fruit for balance. (JH)
