Tasting Notes

Vinous Joel Payne - 01 Jan 14
Pale golden yellow with a greenish cast. Flamboyantly rich aromas of apricot, lime and sassafras with exotic spices. Generous peach syrup fruit with massive extract saturates the palate, masking the wine's subtle underlying acidity. Perhaps more rich than elegant, but still the finest of Fröhlich's spätleses in the vintage and one of the best in Germany.

Golden honey and tightness on the finish. Much tenser than the regular bottling. But it needs time. (JR)
