Vinous Josh Raynolds - 01 Dec 14
Vivid yellow-gold. An exotically perfumed bouquet displays heady scents of dried pear, peach pit, tangerine, smoky lees and minerals, with a suave floral element gaining strength with aeration. Stains the palate with concentrated pit and orchard fruit flavors that are braced by juicy acidity and given bite by a gingery note. The smoky quality comes back strong on the chewy, mineral-tinged finish, which shows outstanding tenacity and focus. Aged on its lees for 12 years before disgorgement and release.

Champagne

Champagne, exclusively from France's Champagne region, is synonymous with luxury and celebration. Made primarily from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, it undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle, creating its signature bubbles. Flavours range from crisp green apple and citrus to rich, toasty notes of nuts and honey. Yeast contact in the bottle contributes to pastry and brioche notes, which are a key part of good quality Champagne. Top producers include Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, and Krug.
