Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Mar 14
(vinified with 25% whole clusters): Dark red. Lovely lift to the aromas of blackberry, violet, rose petal, menthol and sweet oak. Plusher and richer than the Grands-Echezeaux but youthfully closed today and hiding its underlying sweetness. In a rather masculine style, with high-pitched black fruits dominating. Grew suppler with air but this firmly tannic, rather powerful Clos Vougeot will need a good seven or eight years of patience.
