Tasting Notes

Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Mar 17
Good medium-dark red. Aromas of plum, raspberry and minerals are complicated by smoky soil tones; ultimately higher-pitched than the Haut-Doix. Then more saline and reserved on the palate, with stronger acid cut keeping the fruit under wraps today. Finishes with a firm spine of acidity and serious granular tannins that will require time in the cellar.

Chambolle-Musigny Vineyard Fine Wine

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
