Bright ruby. Strikingly fresh aromas of red berries, kirsch, incense and cured meat; turned even brighter with air, emphasizing raspberry and blackberry. Supple strawberry and raspberry flavors betray no rough edges and gain a compelling spiciness on the long, sappy finish. Wonderfully spherical for Cornas.

More primary fruit than the 2010, strangely. Nothing dumb about this, there is loads of open black fruit and refreshing acidity with crunchy tannin and a lingering floral character on the finish. Such purity of fruit on the finish – a real humdinger. (RH)
