Bright, dark red. Spicy, herbal lift to the aromas of raspberry and black pepper. Intense, very dry and penetrating; a distinctly soil-driven, very backward style of Clos Saint-Denis with taut raspberry, pepper and mineral flavors showing little in the way of early sweetness, much less pliancy. Very uncompromising wine in need of significant patience, but there's excellent density here.
