Tasting Notes

Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Jul 23
The 2005 Barolo is fresh and vibrant, with bright acids driving a core of red-toned fruit, chalk, white pepper, plum, licorice and crushed rocks. There is a crystalline purity that I especially admire. The 2005 will always be a bit lean in construction, but there is a feeling of classicism that is undeniably appealing. From magnum, the 2005 is especially fine.

Jancis Robinson Walter Speller - 23 Dec 15
Beautiful cherry nose with hints of camphor and earth, and beginning to show some age. Transparent and juicy palate with a hint of leather. Succulent, yet tannic finish. Long with almost exotic, mouth-filling aromas. (WS)

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
