The 2016 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru is blessed with a deliriously beautiful bouquet with pure red berry fruit, crushed stone and pressed rose petals. Astonishing focus. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannin, vivacious red berry fruit laced with minerals and a touch of piquancy on the perfectly formed finish that you might quibble, just misses a little length, although that will surely develop with continued bottle age. Wonderful. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.

Chambolle-Musigny

Chambolle-Musigny, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is renowned for its elegant, aromatic Pinot Noir wines. Known for their finesse and complex aromas of red berries, violets, and earth, these wines are often described as the most "feminine" of Burgundy. The appellation's two Grand Cru vineyards, Bonnes Mares and Musigny, produce highly sought-after wines with depth and ageing potential. Notable producers include Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Domaine Georges Roumier, and Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, all celebrated for their refined winemaking.
