In fact, 2015 is one of the few vintages where Fontalloro runs truly neck and neck with Rancia. Pliant, silky and floral, Fontalloro is wonderfully sensual from the very first taste. Sandy soils confer aromatic intensity to this super-expressive, arrestingly beautiful wine from Fèlsina.

The Fèlsina 2015 Fontalloro offers an unusual aromatic profile of dried spice, resin, dandelion, dried flowers and a slightly stemmy quality. It is streamlined, clean and polished, with considerable elegance, although it feels leaner and more linear in the mouth. In fact, in 2015 you could almost switch Fontalloro for Rancia and Rancia for Fontalloro, so closely do the two wines seem to borrow from each other's usual stylistic identities. The vintage is remembered for spot-on phenolic ripeness and beautifully healthy fruit at harvest.
