Good medium-deep red. Expressive aromas of red fruits, brown spices and mocha; this could only be from Morey-Saint-Denis. Fat, silky and sweet, showing sexy spicy complexity and a hint of rose petal to the red fruit flavors. Conveys lovely balance and richness without evidence of _surmaturité.

The 2014 Morey St Denis 1er Cru Clos Sorbe was showing just a little reduction on the nose when I tasted it. Baked cherries come through, allied with orange peel and blueberries, very Chambolle in style. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe red berry fruit, tangy marmalade and fine mineral tones framing the linear finish. It is a complex Morey-Saint-Denis underpinned by freshness and precision.
