Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Sep 18
The 2016 Chardonnay Sanford and Benedict emerges from one of the sections in this historic vineyard planted with own-rooted vines. Lemon confit, white flowers, apricot and lightly tropical notes are woven together in a finessed, wonderfully nuanced Chardonnay full of character and personality. If California has a classification of vineyard site, Sanford and Benedict would sit at or near the top. This is a terrific expression of site.
