Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Nov 19
The 2015 Barolo Ginestra melds together the breadth of Ginestra with some of the soft fruit for this site, all while retaining a very classic sense of structure. Sweet red cherry, mint, pine, orange peel, star anise and dried herbs give the 2015 lovely brightness and fragrance to play off its mid-weight structure.

Monforte d’Alba. Tasted blind. Mid ruby. A little subdued with hints of sour cherry. Compact cherry with firm tannins on a subtle, low-key fruit palate. The plentiful grainy tannins take the upper hand for the moment, but the aromatic, long finish indicates there is much to come. No concentrated fruit bomb by any stretch of the imagination, yet with lots of juice. (WS)
