Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Jan 19
The 2017 Savigny-lès-Beaune Aux Gravins 1er Cru clearly offers more red fruit than the Aux Guettes tasted alongside; this is more open and perhaps conveys more joie-de-vivre at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp grainy tannin and slightly brittle in texture, but very focused, showing a tangible sense of energy and frisson toward the minerally finish. The standout wine from Pavelot this vintage? It could be.
