Studert's 2019 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese offers a fabulous nose that is as intense as it is bright and fresh, exhibiting ripe, white fruit aromas with notes of crushed slate, lemon rind and lime juice. On the palate, this is a very elegant and refined Auslese with lush, moderately sweet fruit and stimulating grapefruit bitters on the elegant and well-balanced finish. This is a very digestible Riesling from one of the Mosel's most iconic vineyards. It has never been better since I have been tasting the wines from this domaine. 8.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted from AP 8 20 in June 2022.

AP number 17 20.Spontaneous-fermentation aroma. Great precision and extract. Really vibrant and with lots of convincing ingredients that are nothing like intermingled yet. But this is very promising – it is already entrancing on the palate! Just the sort of wine that could only be grown in Germany. Throbs on the finish. (JR)
