Vinous Josh Raynolds - 22 Dec 22
Opaque ruby. Mineral-accented aromas of blackberry, cherry-cola and violet are complemented by a hint of exotic spices. Sappy and appealingly sweet, offering palate-staining black and blue fruit, floral pastille, smoky mineral and spicecake flavors and a subtle hint of salty olive paste. Finishes sweet and long, displaying resonating mineral and floral notes and steadily building tannins.

97% Syrah, 3% Viognier. Aged for 22 months in old oak. Cask sample.Tasted blind. There really is a stone-fruit edge to the fruit here, which is remarkable testament to the power of Viognier! Blackberry fruit on the palate, in a dense but accessible style. (RH)
