The 2019 Mazoyères Chambertin Grand Cru is 100% destemmed and matured with 50% new oak. It has an intense floral nose of dark plum and cassis fruit infused with with violet and iris flower aromas; very fine mineralité here. The harmonious palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, superb acidity and poise and a judicious touch of spice toward a finish that fans out beautifully. This is a gorgeous Mazoyères-Chambertin that will age with style. Outstanding.

Destemmed, 50% new oak. Two barrels made. Barrel sample.Bright, concentrated crimson. Not yet very expressive on the nose. But with a certain majesty of density and texture. Lively freshness on the end. If it weren’t for what I suspect the price is, I’d recommend this far and wide. Lots of juice and charm. But pretty forward for the appellation. (JR)
