The 2020 Juffer Sonnenuhr GG offers a delicate, finely flinty and coolish bouquet with ripe stone fruit aromas and delicate slate notes. It is round and lush, with great finesse and intense, perfectly ripe and elegant fruit and a feminine structure but with a great, intense and vivacious, energetic and saline finish. A fabulous JSU that is beautifully balanced and rich and intense in a refined way. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2022.

Full bottle 1,225 g. No alcohol given. Pale straw. Crystalline precision with floral perfumes, some breadth and pungency and an acidity that leaves the finish perfectly dry with a hint of smokiness. Seems extraordinary that it was so relatively recently that it was thought the Mosel could not produce fully satisfying dry wines. This is tight but not unapproachable and has quite enough extract to serve with food. (JR)
