Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Oct 21
The 2016 Barolo del Comune di Barolo is an attractive, understated wine. Time in the glass brings out lovely inner sweetness and perfume. This is an especially ethereal style. Sweet dried cherry, crushed flowers, cedar and spice are nicely lifted. I would prefer to drink the 2016 over the next 10-15 years, as it does not appear to have the stuffing of the other wines in the range. The Comune bottling emerges from a parcel in the Terlo cru.

Barolo Vineyard Fine Wine

Barolo

Barolo, the "King of Wines," is a prestigious red from Piedmont, Italy, made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes. Known for deep complexity, Barolo offers rich flavours of dark cherries, roses, truffles, and spices, with high acidity and firm tannins. It ages exceptionally well, evolving in depth and nuance. Barolo's diverse terroirs create a range of styles, from powerful to delicate. Top producers include Gaja, Bruno Giacosa, Giuseppe Rinaldi, and Marchesi di Barolo, all of whom exemplify Barolo's tradition and quality.
