Robert Parker Wine Advocate William Kelley - 05 Aug 21
Cropped at a mere 17 hectoliters per hectare, the 2019 Chablis 1er Cru Les Lys has turned out brilliantly, unwinding in the glass with notes of crisp stone fruit, pear and green apple, complemented by subtle hints of oyster shell and mandarin. Medium to full-bodied, chiseled and precise, with tangy acids and a pungently chalky finish, it will reward bottle age.

Chablis

Chablis, the northernmost Burgundy region, is famed for its crisp, mineral-driven Chardonnay wines. Unlike rich, oaky Chardonnays, Chablis wines, influenced by the cool climate and limestone-rich soils, feature vibrant acidity and flavours of green apple, citrus, and flint. Ideal with seafood, especially oysters, Chablis wines come in four appellations: Petit Chablis, Chablis, Chablis Premier Cru, and Chablis Grand Cru. Esteemed producers like Domaine William Fèvre, François Raveneau, and Vincent Dauvissat are known for their classic, terroir-expressive wines.
