Vinous Josh Raynolds - 01 Feb 21
Glass-staining ruby. Powerful, spice- and floral-accented aromas of black raspberry, boysenberry, cherry cola and candied licorice; floral and smoky mineral elements build in the glass. Densely packed and pliant in the mouth, offering intense black and blue fruit, spicecake and lavender pastille flavors braced by an undercurrent of juicy acidity. Closes extremely long and sharply focused, with firm, spicy cut, well-judged tannins and lingering florality.

Robert Parker Wine Advocate Luis Gutierrez - 30 Dec 19
The Reserva style 2016 VS is the prototype of Mauro wine—ripe and generously oaked, a wine for the long haul. It feels a bit riper than other 2016s, a little more opulent, with sweet tannins, open expressive and with some creaminess. This matured for 26 months in French oak barrels, some 80% of them new. It is a flashy expression of VS, round and generous. 42,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in January 2019.
