The 2020 Meursault Village now incorporates all the lieu-dit bottlings that Jobard used to produce, and the result is unsurprisingly deeper and more complete. Offering up notes of pear, crisp green apple, white flowers, pastry cream and hazelnuts, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, with tangy acids, chalky structuring extract and a penetrating finish.

The 2020 Meursault is a very fine village wine. Aromatic and light on its feet, it expresses the style of the village and vintage, offering lovely accessibility and raciness to match. Citrus peel, white flowers, slate and a kiss of French oak linger.

Cask sample. A hint of over-ripeness here but I suspect this is more the condition of the cask sample as there is still good acidity on the palate to carry the weight. (AWH)
