Vinous Neal Martin - 30 Oct 24
The 2020 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos de la Bussière 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet with dark berry fruit, crushed stone and light iris flower scents. Impressive freshness. The palate is medium-bodied with a sapid, oyster shell-tinged entry. It shows black fruit rather than red and a typical Morey-like backbone, but I appreciate the sapidity on the finish. Bon vin. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Morey-Saint-Denis Fine Wine

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
