Tasting Notes

Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Sep 15
(on its finings; this aged in one-third new oak): Rather blocked on the nose. Dry and saline on the palate, with lemon and lime flavors framed by brisk acidity and slightly hardened by the oak component. In an awkward stage today. This fruit was harvested at 12.5% potential alcohol and chaptalized to 12.8%.

Meursault Fine Wine

Meursault

Meursault, in Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, is famed for its rich and complex Chardonnay wines. Known for opulent textures, vibrant acidity, and nutty, buttery flavours with notes of stone fruits, citrus, and hazelnuts, these wines also feature a subtle minerality and creamy mouthfeel from limestone-rich soils and oak ageing. Though lacking Grand Cru vineyards, Premier Cru sites like Les Perrières, Les Genevrières, and Les Charmes produce exceptional wines. Top producers include Domaine des Comtes Lafon, Domaine Roulot, and Domaine Coche-Dury, all celebrated for showcasing Meursault's unique terroir.
