Vinous Neal Martin - 17 Jan 24
The 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis Mont Luisants 1er Cru contains around 10-15% whole bunches and was aged in 50% new oak. The bouquet is very floral at the moment, with iris flower and violet infusing the black cherry and bilberry fruit - one of the most floral amongst Maxime Chuerlin's range. The palate is very well-balanced with a succulent entry. It is fresh and taut, gaining intensity with aeration and sorbet-fresh on the lingering finish. Excellent.

Morey-Saint-Denis Fine Wine

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
