Tasting Notes

Vinous Stephen Tanzer - 01 Jan 14
(aging in 25% new oak): Bright medium red. Sexy reduced aromas of raspberry, mocha, leather, brown spices and animal fur. Fat, saline and sweet, with a plush texture given shape by ripe acidity. Serious dusty tannins showed a slight dryness with air, but this has plenty of stuffing.

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
