Vinous Neal Martin - 30 Jan 24
The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Les Violettes has a lovely nose with wild strawberry and hints of dried violet petal. The palate is medium-bodied, clean and fresh, with fine-boned tannins and a tensile, mineral-driven finish—almost Gevrey-like. Very fine. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.

Cask sample. Mid crimson. Fragrant red fruits, just a touch peppery. On the palate, finely dry tannins that still allow the juicy fruit to shine. Not particularly concentrated but nicely balanced to a long finish. Perhaps overall a little bit insubstantial. (JH)
