Simpsons Wine Estate is tucked away in the beautiful Elham Valley – a wonderfully quiet part of the North Downs of Kent. Their terroir is lavished with lime-rich chalk on part of the same ridge that stretches all the way to Champagne. Owners Ruth and Charles Simpson grow the classic trio of champagne varieties - Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Producing both sparkling & still wines, their first vintage was in 2016 and quickly they have established themselves as one of the UK’s very best estates.
Don't just take our word for it…their first ever vintage of Chalklands Classic Cuvée 2016 received a Gold and Best in Class in the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championship. Wine writer Jamie Goode awarded the 2019 Gravel Castle 92 points likening the wine to Chablis - high praise indeed!
